Witness Details Moment That 'Evil Attacker' Struck Manchester Temple

A person involved in securing a house of prayer in the Manchester area has recounted how a deadly attack unfolded, leading to the loss of a pair of Jewish individuals.

On Thursday morning, the survivor was present in the worship center when a perpetrator rammed a car into and attacked with a knife worshippers assembling for a observance to commemorate Yom Kippur.

Mr Levy noted that the 'monster' individual attempted to force open the entryways of the building, and he described securing the facility with fellow attendees.

Adrian Daulby, 53, and Melvin Cravitz, 66 were killed in the violence on that day, while additional persons were injured while trying to protect others.

Witness Description of the Violence

Mr Levy, who acts as a leader at the house of worship, explained securing the doors and said that the attacker wielded blades and plant pots to force his way inside.

I witnessed this great, big, evil monster shoulder charge in the front doors, trying to bash them down while armed with a blade," he shared with interviewers.

The sole statement that could be discerned from him was 'this is what you're going to get for killing our children'.

That was all I heard him say. We remained within the synagogue and we were declaring 'we are not letting this man in'.

He appeared as a deranged, evil monster."

Funeral Held for Individual

These remarks came as hundreds of people attended the ceremony for the deceased.

Close kin, attendees from the local Jewish community as well as a religious leader, and individuals of the broader community came together in the local area to honor the deceased.

Attendees filled the gravesite, with a number waiting in the open the chapel in the rain, hearing the ceremony and tribute over loudspeakers.

In a tribute shared on the following day, the victim's loved ones expressed that he was always willing to assist.

Police Probe and Apprehensions

Greater Manchester Police stated that the individual appeared to have been hit by law enforcement rounds as they neutralized the perpetrator soon after the incident was reported.

He, who was hailed by his relatives as a "hero", was participating in a service at the house of worship when the incident unfolded.

"He was a dear family member, devoted uncle to his family members and a cherished cousin," his family stated.

"The family is devastated by the sudden passing of such a lovely down to earth man.

"His final act was one of profound courage and he remains in memory for his courageous effort."

A number of apprehensions took place in regarding the incident, and officials stated that several individuals remained in custody on Sunday morning.

All four were apprehended for terrorism-related activities.

The individuals detained include several men, aged 30 and 32 and both arrested in Prestwich; a 61-year-old woman detained locally; and a woman in her 40s arrested in Farnworth.

Two additional individuals were let go with no further proceedings, authorities announced on Saturday.
