The Music Icon Plays a Dark Alter Ego of Herself in Satirical Film Teaser
Charli XCX is preparing for a significant big screen onslaught in 2026, kicking off with the mockumentary titled The Moment.
Throughout the movie, Charli plays what she describes as a dark version of her public image.
It’s the most authentic portrayal of the music business that I’ve ever seen, Charli commented.
She elaborated in an interview: This isn’t a concert film, yet the concept stemmed from the demand to make one.
A Glimpse into The Film
The debut trailer, unveiled on recently, blends real clips from her recent tour with fictionalized behind-the-scenes moments.
The Moment is overseen and co-authored by her collaborator, who explained that the narrative centers on a scenario where the singer opted for alternate decisions in the marketing of her chart-topping release Brat.

A Busy Film Calendar
The mockumentary is a single one of numerous future film appearances for the musician, who already featured in three cinematic festival entries recently.

Future Ventures
The coming year will also see Charli together with Olivia Wilde in erotic drama I Want Your Sex, Natalie Portman in creative industry mystery The Gallerist, and Barbie Ferreira in horror remake Faces of Death.
She recently joined to feature in the star’s maiden directing project A Tree in Blue.
I’m deeply appreciating my foray into acting, she stated. I’m highly enthusiastic currently in this area, and I only ever aim to pursue projects that excite me.
Musical Contributions
The month of February will also bring the debut of Emerald Fennell’s version of Wuthering Heights, which will showcase new music from the singer.
She is also set to compose the score for the drama Mother Mary, featuring Anne Hathaway and Michaela Coel, scheduled for release in the coming year.
The Moment is scheduled to debut on 30 January.
