Flyers aboard the airline can soon enjoy high-speed internet onboard at no cost after a new partnership from Elon Musk's communications company.

Complimentary plus High-speed Wifi Across the Board

The carrier revealed that the complimentary, “fast and dependable” connectivity provision through the satellite provider is set to be available to travelers flying coach, premium economy, and premium cabins as of next month.

Expanded Implementation Across Various Flight Operators

The parent organization of BA, International Airlines Group, confirmed it had secured an deal with the satellite firm to offer connectivity coverage across more than 500 jets operated by the group's carriers, such as Aer Lingus, the Spanish carrier, plus Vueling.

Seamless Wifi from Gate to Landing

The airline explained that the implementation for this service was part of a multi-billion pound “modernization” program and will provide lag-free internet access for flyers from the gate to landing, also when they are flying above large bodies of water or far-off locations.

Travelers can hook up multiple electronics and they will not need a special password.

Existing Internet Services

Basic wifi service is presently offered to BA passengers on the majority of the airline's planes via the .air platform.
